Harmony:
A Concept Magazine
This is one issue of a concept magazine that I spent a semester developing for a design class in college. Harmony is a music magazine marketed towards young adult women and femmes (an egregious gap in the music journalism industry if you ask me). Each design choice in this mockup was chosen deliberately to convey glamour, playfulness, and modernity. Theoretically, the Harmony reader is cool, stylish, and vaguely aloof—the type of person who attends warehouse raves each weekend and knows every DJ personally. More realistically, the Harmony reader is the music lover who wishes they were that type of person. Either way, Harmony was designed to be both accessible and aspirational, with design choices that appeal to the audiophile and the aesthete alike.
